Light of the Desert, Heart of the Sea: Pelagia sets out on her journey to discover the meaning of her mysterious dream, and the equally mysterious stone she found on the ocean's floor. At the same time, Shasa of the Desert Nomads sets out to follow a strange calling of her water diviner's sense. Through some unusual circumstances, the two begin to learn more about the nature of their stones, and the roles they are destined for. Oh, and Laris and Ali make a lot of "Dune" jokes.

Learning to Fly: In search of a husband, Kele leaves her clan, travelling over the mountains where she runs into the Kaeltaifa priestess, Kelley. The priestess herself is on her ritual visit to other clans as a diplomat, and her meeting with Kele sets their entwined destinies as senshi into motion.

Wandering Hearts: Fresh-faced young Acolyte Beletseri wants to impress the world with Marduk's splendor - unfortunately, she ends up causing a lot of chaos along the way. ^^; Confusion and fate bring a lost Tallulah girl, Chilali, to the city of the Snake People and their queen, Yaotl. The two would-be senshi join forces to keep Beletseri and her enthusiasm from running amok.

Stranger in a Strange Land: As
Pela and Shasa travel farther away from their homelands and closer to the great city, they are met by Indalecio in his attempts to study the primitive surface world. Aided by the fiery young Moraimung chieftan - Ignacz - the group make their way to the Crystal Mountains. They find themselves faced with far more than they expected, however, as Marduk's loyal Acolyte of Fear confronts them, and their only hope may lie in a mysterious girl called Tawela, living deep within the mountain caves...

Keeping Up Appearances: Under pressure from his superiors, young city guard Keene enlists the aid of a diviner named Channing to solve a string of thefts. Success comes at a price, though, as their quarry turns the tables.

Musical acts Lark and Gelsey, mystical entertainer Channing, reluctant partygoers Meri, Kanta, and Astra, even assistant caterer Iliana, get caught up in the mass chaos that ensues when attendees start abruptly disappearing...
