Anthony Boscorelli -- His relationship with his father, on the other hand, is terrible. He cannot forgive him for beating his mother and refuses to believe that he might've changed over the years. It's implied that they rarely ever have contact, until the fifth season when he shows back up in Bosco's life. Even after Mikey's death, Bosco is unwilling to give even an inch with his father.
Michael Boscorelli -- Then there's Mikey. I assume they were close as children, but they drifted apart when Mikey chose to forgive their father for abusing their mother and the eventually turned to drugs while Bosco chose to stay out of crime, eventually becoming a cop. Bosco at one time arrested Mikey when he busted him for drug dealing, partially in hope that it would shake Mikey up enough to clean him up. In the fifth season, Mikey returned clean of drugs, but was still caught up in ecstasy dealing. Bosco helped him get out of it and fought to keep him from doing jail time and their relationship began to improve, until Mikey was murdered and mutilated in an act of retaliation by a drug lord whose son's death Bosco had been involved in. Bosco is still heavily grieving for his brother.
Faith Yokas -- His closest relationship outside his family is inarguably with Faith Yokas, his long-time partner and best friend. They've had their trouble as well. Faith lied to Bosco twice and betrayed his trust, and she let stress and fear over her husband's heart attack get the best of her and lashed out at Bosco. Bosco, in turn, drifted away after that and started working Anti-Crime, which was seen as a betrayal of their partnership. Then Faith was shot while trying to help Bosco and afterward demanded that he stay out of her life. They argue constantly, her need to control and mother constantly setting him off and his arrogance and loud mouth constantly driving her crazy. Yet, they're obviously fond of one another and have gone to great lengths to protect each other and look after one another. When they find themselves in dangerous situations, even if they're apart and surrounded by other officers, they think first of each other and call out to each other to make sure they're safe. When Bosco suffered from PTSD, Faith was the one to hold him and be there for him and through all her troubles with her husband Bosco's been there for her to confide in. When she was shot, he was hit incredibly hard and it was that incident that led to him growing up, and becoming more responsible in the following year. When Faith came back to work, she demanded to work with him and they've slowly settled back into being partners again. MANY jokes have been made about the way Faith treats him like one of her kids, including Bosco calling her 'Mommy' several times and Sully suggesting that Faith make it official and adopt him so she can get a deduction on her taxes. They're best friends and they're very familiar with each other's families. Despite the bickering, they confide in one another about things neither of them could say to anyone else and it's obvious neither of them have any closer friends within the police force.
The cops -- Bosco and Ty seem to be buddies, two young guys who can enjoy themselves together either while on duty or off. It's known that they spend time together outside work occasionally, as was implied by Bosco's invitation for Ty to catch the game with him 'and the other guys'. They're not exceptionally close, and neither is safe from the other's mocking, but they do look out for each other when the need is there. Bosco and Sully is a different matter. I wouldn't quite say that they hate each other, but there's certainly a rivalry there, a product of clashing personalities and work styles. They're constantly arguing and insulting each other and always seem to be odds. It's a personality clash between the seasoned veteran and the hot-headed young guy. Despite that, Bosco cared enough about Sully to help Ty dry him out after his wife was killed and he became an alcoholic. Sully seemed to gain some respect for Bosco when after Faith was shot, Bosco let Fred pound on him and spew insults, without fighting back, only concerned for Faith. They're not quite friends, but they're there for one another and probably like each other more than either would be willing to admit. Bosco and Sasha Monroe get along surprisingly well and were good partners. Bosco certainly let her see more vulnerability than anyone else, though still not as much as Faith. Sasha understands Bosco and obviously cares about him though she's not above being annoyed and aggravated when he gets stubborn and smart-mouthed. Bosco tolerates her do-gooder tendencies and seems more amused than irritated by it, no matter what he actually says. Their year as partners made them friends, I think, and though it's no where near as close as his friendship with Faith, they're close enough that Bosco lets his guard down just a bit with her.
Sergeant Cruz deserves her own section. Originally he respected her since she was the Anti-Crime sergeant. When he went to work with her, he deferred to her in the beginning, watching how she did things and learning from her. Gradually as he grew more confident, he started seeing her more as an equal than a teacher or superior. After a traumatic situation, they wound up having sex and that continued on into a longer relationship. They had a lot of sex, but it's not entirely clear how close they were otherwise, but Bosco did treat her better than most of his conquests, though that could also be because she was his boss. When he realized that she wouldn't just bend rules to get the job done, that she'd outright break the law and do some downright dirty things, he turned against her and tried to stop her from framing an innocent man for murder. The resulting confrontation got Faith shot, which only strained their relationship more. They worked together all right afterward and a wary peace was reached when she was raped while undercover and he helped her get justice, outraged at what had been done to her. That truce frayed when Mikey became a police informant and Cruz started pressing him harder and faster than Bosco thought was necessary, putting Mikey at risk. It snapped entirely when Mikey was murdered, Bosco putting some of the blame on Cruz. She tried to offer condolences, an olive branch of sorts, and while he didn't outright lash out at her, he refused to give in at all. When Faith and Cruz confront each other, Bosco always sides with Faith these days.
Medics & Bucket Boys -- It's unclear how well he really knows the paramedics and firemen. He certainly knows them all and has spent some small amount of time off-duty with them, but whether any of that means he actually considers any of them friends is uncertain. He did make out with Kim once when they were suffering grief over four teens that died on their watch, but there weren't really any feelings behind it. He seems to get along with Carlos well enough. There is NO love lost between him and Jimmy, as they are definitely rivals, constantly sniping at one another, giving each other derogatory nicknames, and pulling pranks on one another. That and they insult each other's cars. Bosco and Doc don't necessarily hate one another, but they have gotten in each other's faces on at least one occasion. He's only met Grace once, but it's noteworthy that she didn't treat him with the same contempt that she treats everyone else, and he's certainly grateful to her for saving his mother's life, so who knows where all that will lead.
Superiors -- He gets in trouble enough for things to be tense between him and the watch lieutenant, but Swersky has also shown that he does care about Bosco and is protective of him. He and Sergeant Christopher definitely hate each other, Bosco hating Christopher for being an ass and a jerk of the worst sort, and Christopher for Bosco sleeping with his fiancé (though it's unclear whether Bosco knew who she was at the time). Christopher takes every chance to give Bosco hell and Bosco doesn't afford Christopher any of the respect that his other superiors get, often mouthing off right back at him.
The Yokas Family -- Bosco and Fred hate each other. In the beginning they seemed to get along fine and probably even liked each other to some extent and as late as the second season, Bosco was known to say "hey, I like Fred..." even if they got on each other's nerves constantly. But as Fred and Faith's marriage began to crumble and Fred started causing Faith even more stress and upset, 'like' turned to 'loathe'. Fred, for his part, hates Bosco with a passion, partly because of his attitude, but mostly because of his very large place in Faith's heart and attentions. As much as Fred hates how focused Faith is on her job, he hates how caught up in Bosco she is even more. This came to a head when Faith was shot and Fred blamed Bosco for it. He beat on Bosco and told him to get out of their lives. When Faith returned and insisted on partnering with Bosco again, Fred was enraged and it was a sore point between them right up until Fred left her. Bosco doesn't know about the divorce yet, but it's a sure thing that he'd be happy to beat the crap out of Fred, especially if he learns of his infidelity.
Bosco gets along with Faith's kids wonderfully. Charlie seems to absolutely adore Bosco, greeting him excitedly every time he sees him and referring to him as 'Uncle B'. It's clear that as far as Charlie's concerned, Bosco's one of the family. Bosco adores Charlie right back and pals around with him when he gets the chance. Bosco likes Emily just as much, and I think Emily liked Bosco a lot in the early seasons, but as Emily went into teenager mode and started having problems with her mom, I think she got tense around Bosco as well. Nevertheless, Bosco has made it very clear to her that he's always be there for her and that if she's ever in trouble, she should call him and he'll be right there to help. I think it's obvious that Bosco loves Faith's kids, cares for them, and feels protective of them. The impression's given that he's spent enough time around the Yokas household that he's very familiar with them and them with him. This is something I absolutely love.
The girlfriends --
Bosco's called 'the Italian Stallion' for good reason. In the early seasons,
much was made about the constant stream of women Bosco went through. That seems
to have died off, though at which point I can't really say. Certainly most of
season four and all of season five, nothing was said about him and his women.
In fact, the only woman he seemed to be seeing was Cruz. The most prominent
women have been Nicole, a steady girlfriend that lasted into the second season
before a nasty break-up, his affair with Sergeant Christopher's fiancé,
his time having sex with the captain's daughter, Tori, a woman who reported
a robbery and then hooked up with him, and Sergeant Cruz.
